    Year in Review

The 2012-2013 school year was an eventful one. Here are just a few moments over the course of our year at Pascack Hills that are worth remembering!

    New Administration

Mr. deMarrais, Mr. Wieland, and other administrators opened the school year enthusiastically. They made a tangible effort to stay connected to the student body and the faculty, and were responsive to requests and needs. Mr. deMarrais diligently kept the Hills population updated with his twitter,  @PHHS_PRINCIPAL. Mr. deMarrais and Mr. Wieland, along with the SGA, have worked to make pep rallies even more spirited and fun, with exciting events such as tug of war and limbo competitions between grades. Our new administrators have encouraged Hills pride and helped maintain Hills Spirit throughout the school year.

    Superstorm Sandy

Superstorm Sandy knocked down trees, buildings, and the power from most of our homes. Shores were destroyed, and there was a panic for gas for the days following the storm. However, Jersey showed its strength by weathering the storm and helping others. In a show of support for victims, Hills specifically raised $2300 through their efforts in Hills Has Talent. Though Sandy destroyed the homes of many, she also revealed the strength and generosity of the Hills Community.

    Mr. Pascack Hills

March 27th marked the second Mr. Pascack Hills contest. A Sandt-Ganz Production, this bi-annual event helped to raise money for Relay for Life. The show offered a variety of student and faculty acts. After his brilliant, hilarious performance, during which he serenaded Mr. Alexander with Enrique Iglesias’ “Hero,” senior Josh Rosen was chosen as the second Mr. Pascack Hills.

    Relay for Life

Relay for Life is a way to remember those lost to cancer and to honor the survivors of cancer. The ceremonies during Relay for Life are a way to remember and raise awareness. This year, Relay for Life was held at Pascack Hills. Teens Against Cancer helped organize this event for months and the entire event successfully raised more than $164,000.

    Great Year for Hills Teams

The 2012-2013 school year has been a fantastic year for all teams at Pascack Hills. All of the sports teams did extremely well. Some notable teams this year were the girls swim and teams, gymnastics team, dance team, golf team, and the basketball team, just to name a few! Also, the debate team and robotics team placed well in their respective competitions.
