One Act Preview

If you love the theater or any live performances, you should come see the One Act plays on April 30 at Pascack Hills. After a successful performance of Guys and Dolls early this spring, students from this school have been working hard on writing, directing, and acting in short plays. These plays feature both recurring actors from the musical and drama and students who wanted to try out acting for the first time.

One Acts are directed by seniors, including Keith Glicksman, Naseeb Ally, Bonnie Harris, Phoebe Soh, Laura Green, Sam Dickson, Daniel Chatfield, Celine Mileham, Lauren DiPalma, Chelsea Kirnum, and Avantika Joshi. They are grouped into six different shows, so the audience will be able to see six different stories in one night. One play tells the story of a mysterious murder that happens to an elderly home, while another is about two people trying to get a couple back together in a library. Others include a comedic bank robbery where employees get locked in a vault and a robot that struggles with wanting to be a human.

The seniors have had a fun time directing these plays and have a positive attitude toward the experience. Keith Glicksman said, “The actors bring the comedy to life.” The mix of different experienced actors makes for a fun and challenging performance, and everyone is excelling. Laura Green, directing with Phoebe Soh, says their show is “kind of strange, but lots of fun.” They are directing the show about the robot and are having fun with it.

Students should go see the One Act shows because both seniors and underclassmen have put in a lot of effort and rehearsal time to make a fun, comedic, and great show for everyone to enjoy. All of the shows will certainly be enjoyable, and it is a must-see performing arts event for Pascack Hills.
