In November, Pascack Hills junior Jack Silver was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome and leukemia. Jack is a student-athlete and is described by his loved ones as an amazing brother and friend. After his diagnosis, Jack’s sister, Jayme, created an Instagram account which has become a hub for the community to rally behind Jack as he goes through treatment.

The account Jayme created, @jack.strong2, has amassed over 6,000 followers in just two months. The hashtag #JackStrong has equally resonated across the Hills community and beyond, with many professional athletes and celebrities throwing their support behind Jack and behind leukemia awareness.

TO DONATE AND SIGN UP FOR THE TRIVIA:

1. Venmo Student Government advisor Lauren Bucco (@Lauren-Bucco) at least $5 with your full name in the donation comment.

All of the proceeds will be donated to organizations recommended by #JackStrong, including The Jillian Fund, MDS Foundation, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Trivia questions will test student’s knowledge of Pascack Hills, and there will be prizes for the top three winners –– including the chance to earn an Amazon gift card and Hills merchandise.

An anonymous Hills senior and Student Government’s executive public relations officer, said, “I think this Kahoot is a great opportunity to not only contribute to a great cause for our classmate, but for Hills students to unite during these trying times to answer some fun questions about our school. We’ll definitely be testing how much Hills Pride the students have in a really unique way. Also, there are some really awesome prices that I know for sure I would want to win myself!”
