As the summer sun approaches, the glorious Garden State has lots to anticipate in the local entertainment field! The summer of 2024 holds many promising and vibrant events. If you want to see a traditional play or watch a concert by one of your favorite artists, the New Jersey and New York area has everything you could want!

At the Paper Mill Playhouse, located in Millburn, New Jersey, there are many different theater productions to view, and they even offer the Carole King Musical all through the summer! So, if you’re feeling like you want to go to a musical spontaneously, you can visit the Paper Mill Playhouse.

The Carole King Musical is a jukebox musical that takes you through the life of famous singer-songwriter Carole King, who wrote songs such as “You’ve Got a Friend” and “So Far Away.”

Another place to watch a theatrical performance is right here, at Bergen Pac, in Englewood, New Jersey, approximately 15-20 minutes away. Almost every day throughout the summer, the Bergen Pac offers tons of new events. For example, on July 31, the Bergen Pac will hold a tribute concert to ABBA, where iconic hits like “Gimme Gimme Gimme” and “Dancing Queen” will be performed!

The Sea Hear Now festival, the most iconic New Jersey festival in Asbury Park, will take place on Sept. 14-15. Artists such as Noah Kahan, Bruce Springsteen, and Kool & The Gang will be performing this year! If you’re a music lover and love live music events, this is the right place for you!

Fourth of July fireworks will be taking place at various locations down South Jersey this year! Another recommendation is the celebration on Jenkinson’s boardwalk in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. This way, you can enjoy Fourth of July fireworks while being close to a beach and other fun things such as an aquarium or rides. The fireworks start at 9 p.m. and go to midnight, so it’s a whole night excursion!

Looking to see a country concert this summer? Luke Combs will be coming to Metlife this summer from July 19-20! He will perform various famous hits, such as “Fast Car” and “Cold as You.” Live music is a summer essential, so enjoying a fun country concert on a hot summer night might be the thing you need!

Lastly, Surflight Theater, located in Beach Haven, New Jersey, is offering exciting new shows throughout the summer! Shows include Frozen, Cinderella, the Little Mermaid, and even a splash of comedy nights! If you’re looking to have a fun day with family and friends, Surflight Theater might be the place to go!

Living in the New Jersey area provides many fun options to seek out a theater show or indulge in a spontaneous concert day. Plan ahead so you can enjoy this summer to the fullest!
