On Saturday, Dec. 16, the Pascack Hills Chamber Choir performed their “Snowflake Serenade” at Montvale Public Library. Their performance was a part of the library’s special showcase called the Winter Family Festival.
The Choir’s serenade consisted of many holiday-themed songs and winter carol favorites. The performance included full group songs, a quartet, and a few solo sections. The Chamber Choir performed the following pieces:
- “Circle of Life” by Carmen Twillie and Lebo M
- “O Holy Night” by BYU Noteworthy arr. Amy Geis
- “Fly Me to the Moon (In Other Words) ” by Frank Sinatra
- “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy Williams
- “O Come, All Ye Faithful” by Pentatonix
- Various carols
Despite a few absent members, the Chamber Choir’s harmonies and vocality still shone through and captivated the audience.
“I absolutely loved their performance. I especially enjoyed hearing how well the Choir sang together and the seamless blending of their voices,” said Renee Freidman, parent of Chamber Choir member Eva Friedman.
Angel Chen, parent of Chamber Choir members Bethany and Elijah Chen, reflected on her experience watching the choir perform over the years.
“The choir is just so talented. Each year, Mrs. Elkin has an amazing way of arranging pieces according to her students’ skills and strengths. I always appreciate hearing them and seeing the joy on their faces,” she said.
In addition, The Winter Family Festival at Montvale Public Library included other fun surprises such as craft tables, book sales, and hot cocoa, which were enjoyed by Choir members and guests.
“I can never say this enough, but the Chamber Choir is an amazing group of students. They all respect each other, enjoy performing with one another, and are always united. We are a family,” said Margarita Elkin, Pascack Hills Choir Director.
This cohesive connection was extremely evident throughout their performance on Saturday, leaving audience members truly enraptured.
