Last Friday 129 people were killed, and 352 others were wounded in gunfire and blasts in the French capital while France and Germany were playing for the World Champions soccer title. Shots rang out from AK-47s fired by assailants strapped with suicide bombs.

It was the night France stood still. The entire country is now in mourning, and they do not stand alone. The phrase “Peace for Paris” is already spreading worldwide.

A man named Julien Pearce witnessed the horror and grief caused by terrorists in the Bataclan Theater. Pearce said, “Two men came in, without masks, and the gunfire lasted for 10 to 15 minutes.” Julien said he witnessed 20 to 25 bodies on the ground.

“Terrorists capable to carry out such atrocities must know that they will face a France that is determined and united,” said President Francois Hollande. The president has started an investigation into the network of men that organized these attacks.

Gunshots were not the only things causing destruction. Suicide bombings had also been taking place, and they could be heard from inside the Stade de France.

According to a U.S. official, “At this hour, there is no credible or specific threat in the United States.” Although we are safe in the U.S., the President of France has declared a state of emergency and closed France’s borders.

In a statement made on Friday, President Obama said “This is an attack not just on Paris, not just on the people of France, but an attack on all humanity and the universal values we share.”
