BOE recognizes athletic achievements
Later in the meeting, the BOE discussed old business items and approved athletic appointments and resignations for the 2023-24 school year.
On Tuesday night, the Pascack Valley Regional High School District Board of Education recognized student athletic achievements.
The BOE congratulated the Pascack Hills Baseball Team for winning the Group 2 State Championship and Bergen County Small School Team of the Year. Sophomore Jake Polsky and junior Ari Hirshfield were also recognized for being selected to the 1st Team All Bergen County Tennis Doubles.
When opened to the public for comments regarding agenda items, a local council representative thanked the BOE for their work this past year.
“I just want to thank [the Board] for your time this year at the end of the school year, for your personal sacrifices…I appreciate everything you do. On behalf of the borough, I’d like to extend that thanks to you,” he said.
The BOE also approved athletic appointments and resignations for the 2023-24 school year.
Jamie Rossig was appointed the Pascack Regional Gymnastics Head Coach. The BOE also accepted the resignation of varsity Girls Soccer Assistant Coach Caitlin Ernest.
Later in the meeting, the BOE discussed old business items regarding graduation and opened to the public for comments regarding non-agenda items.
The BOE listened to a comment from Woodcliff Lake resident Stephanie Huang regarding an exploratory cannabis committee formed by the Woodcliff Lake Council.
At the end of the meeting, BOE President Joseph Blundo congratulated the PVRHSD classes of 2023.
“Fantastic job by the staff, congratulations to the students. Thank you to the weather for being just a wonderful night. Congratulations and good luck to the classes of 2023,” he said.
