Volleyball vs. Pascack Valley – 2-0 Loss
The beginning of this week has no effect on the state tournament, but the Hills-Valley rivalry is always strong. The annual Dig Pink matchup between the Broncos and the Panthers helped support the Side Out Foundation to raise breast cancer awareness. Hills lost to Valley in straight sets, with Valley winning the first 25-21 and the second 25-13.
Boys Soccer at Indian Hills – 6-2 Loss
Boys soccer had a tough loss to Indian Hills on Monday. Brogan Rossi scored both goals for the Broncos.
Girls Soccer vs. Indian Hills – 1-1 Tie
Girls soccer had a 1-1 tie to end their regular season on Monday. Emily Rennie scored the only goal for the Broncos, with Kate Sneath getting the assist. Brianna Arendacs made five saves to keep the Broncos and the Braves tied at one.
Wednesday, Oct. 25
Boys Soccer at High Point (NJSIAA Sectional Tournament First Round) – 1-0 Win
In the first round of the state tournament, Michael Chelney scored the lone goal to beat #3 ranked High Point on their home turf.
Thursday, Oct. 26
Girls Soccer vs. Westwood (NJSIAA Sectional Tournament First Round) – 2-1 Loss
Girls soccer finished their season with a tough loss on Thursday. Westwood scored in the first half, but Hills equalized off of a corner kick early in the second half. The game remained tied at one until overtime. Five minutes into the first overtime period, Westwood scored off of a long one to win and move on to the next round of the tournament. Girls soccer finished their season at 7-6-3.
Football vs. Dwight-Morrow (SFC Ivy Playoff Semifinal) – 44-20 Loss
In the semifinals of the division playoffs, Pascack Hills was defeated by Dwight-Morrow 44-20. It was a dominant performance from the Maroon Raiders, led by a strong running game from quarterback Damani Williams and running back Jordan Moorer. Jordan Morrell had two touchdowns and Connor Ohnikian had one.
Friday, Oct. 27
Volleyball vs. West Milford (NJSIAA Sectional Tournament First Round) – 2-0 Win
Volleyball had a big win in the first round of the state tournament on Friday. The Broncos won in straight sets, winning both sets 25-13. They will play at River Dell in the sectional quarterfinals on Wednesday.
Saturday, Oct. 28
Boys Soccer at Indian Hills (NJSIAA Sectional Tournament Quarterfinal) – 5-1 Loss
Boys soccer ended their season with a loss to Indian Hills. They finished with a 7-10-2 record. That leaves the volleyball team as the only Bronco sports team still left in the state playoffs.
