Boys Basketball vs. Mahwah – 64-55 Win
Pascack Hills boys basketball got off to a 20-4 lead in the first quarter over divisional rival Mahwah. Nick Lukmann and Ryan Lee both scored over 20 points as the Broncos notched their second divisional win and third of the season.
Girls Basketball at Mahwah – 50-32 Loss
Mahwah continued an amazing season, scoring their tenth win over Pascack Hills girls basketball. Hills dropped to 1-9 with this loss.
Wednesday, Jan. 10
Girls Bowling at Tenafly – 7-0 Win
Led by Hadyn Hopper’s 155-game average, the girls bowling team defeated Tenafly to improve to 4-2. It was a shutout win for the Broncos, highlighted by a huge win in Game 1.
Boys Bowling vs. Tenafly – 7-0 Win
Boys bowling did the same as the girls on Wednesday, getting a shutout win over Tenafly. Michael Chelney had an amazing match, with a 227 average over two games. The team improves to 4-3.
Wrestling vs. Ramsey – 41-40 Win
In their first home dual match of the season, Bronco wrestling had to win on tiebreakers against Ramsey. The Broncos got off to a solid start, leading 34-12 after eight matches. But Ramsey came back with four pins in the final six matches to tie the match at 40. The tiebreakers went all the way to criteria F—whoever had the least amount of forfeits. Ramsey forfeited the 285 class to Quinn Mercier, and that would be the push to give the Broncos the win.
Thursday, Jan. 11
Girls Basketball vs. River Dell – 55-38 Loss
Girls basketball dropped to 1-10 with another divisional loss to River Dell. River Dell had two straight 14-point quarters, while the Broncos scored a combined 10 points in those periods.
Boys Basketball at River Dell – 48-45 Win
The Broncos were down by 10 at halftime to divisional rival River Dell. They came back to only be losing 39-34 at the end of the third quarter. River Dell only scored six points in the fourth quarter, allowing the Broncos to tie it up. With one second on the clock, senior Nick Lukmann drained a three-pointer to give the Broncos a 48-45 win. Lukmann led the team with 21 points as the Broncos improved to 3-1 in the division and 4-5 overall.
Boys Swimming vs. River Dell – 90-80 Loss
Boys swimming lost their third meet to River Dell on Thursday. Brian Yang led the team with two wins in the 200-yard IM and the 100-yard breast and contributed to a win in the 200-yard freestyle.
Girls Swimming vs. River Dell – 97-73 Win
Girls swimming improved to 5-0 with a big win over River Dell. Rianna Kirkorian, Jessica Malocha, and Amanda Bramley had two individual wins each.
Friday, Jan. 12
Wrestling vs. Clifton – 57-21 Loss (Big North Conference Duals)
Only Jake Wacha, Sean Herman, Tyler Duffy, and Hassan Shawkat won in the Broncos third loss of the season to Clifton. Wacha preserved an undefeated record this year.
Wrestling vs. Fair Lawn – 55-21 Win (Big North Conference Duals)
Hills bounced back from a loss against Clifton to win against host Fair Lawn 55-21. Quick pins from Jake Wacha and Dylan Funke led the Broncos to victory.
Saturday, Jan. 13
Wrestling vs. Ramapo – 48-30 Loss (Big North Conference Duals)
Six straight wins from Ramapo to end the match gave the Raiders a 48-30 win over Pascack Hills. Despite pins from Dillon Cahill, Quinn Mercier, and Hassan Shawkat, the Broncos could not hold on.
Wrestling vs. Wayne Hills – 42-31 Loss (Big North Conference Duals)
Four straight wins from Wayne Hills gave the Broncos their third loss in their final Big North dual match. While Quinn Mercier and Ajdin Radoncic got quick pins late in the match, it was not enough to give the Broncos the win.
Girls Basketball vs. Emerson Boro – 40-28 Loss
On senior day for girls basketball, they could not win against Emerson. Kayla Elek led the Cavaliers with 17 points, while sophomore McKenna Ferrall put up 9 points to lead the Broncos.
Boys Swimming at Passaic – 91-44 Win
Brian Yang, Harry Fominykh, and Nathan Jeong all had two individual wins in Pascack boys swim’s win over Passaic. Boys swimming got back to an even record now at 3-3.
Girls Swimming at Passaic – 101-38 Win
Girls swimming continued their undefeated season with a win over Passaic. Rianna Kirkorian and Phoebe Garretson both had two individual wins.
