Boys Tennis vs. St. Joseph (Mont.) – 5-0 Win
Pascack Hills boys tennis easily won every match to start the final week of regular season competition this spring 2024 season. They improved to 8-6 on the season.
Baseball at Ridgefield Park – 13-0 Win
Five innings was all Hills baseball needed to win their 11th game in their last 12. Joe Napolitano was awarded the win as the starter and pitched three innings. Anthony Blackford and D’Angelo Rodriguez relieved the sophomore. Ronin Stern and Kyle Wenckus went two for two with three RBIs apiece, and for Wenckus, both hits included at least one extra base. Hills scheduled a lazy week to give them some rest heading into the state tournament.
Softball vs. Dumont – 8-5 Win
Softball had a nice comeback win over a good Dumont team for their final win of the season. Dumont led until the final inning, when Hills scored four runs to take their first lead of the game and their eighth win of the season.
Boys Lacrosse at River Dell – 17-7 Loss
Zach Groves led Hills with a hat trick, but it was not enough to stop River Dell. Brendan Singleton and John Rothschild could not stop the 17-goal onslaught from the Hawks, which gave boys lacrosse their sixth loss of the season.
Tuesday, May 14
Softball at Ramsey – 11-1 Loss
Ramsey scored their 20th win over Pascack Hills who recorded their 14th loss of the season. This loss ensured that Hills softball will not make the state playoffs this season.
Boys Tennis at Indian Hills – 5-0 Win
Yet another 5-0 win for boys tennis also secures a division championship with one game left in their divisional season. This is Hills’s fourth straight division championship, and if they win at Westwood on Monday, then the Broncos will have their fourth straight undefeated division championship as well.
Boys Lacrosse vs. Old Tappan – 3-2 Win
C.J. Driver scored two, with Zach Groves adding the winning goal to give Hills a big win over Old Tappan. Brendan Singleton played the whole game, and 10 saves helped give the Broncos their ninth win of the year.
Baseball vs. Tenafly – 11-1 Win
Baseball took a six-inning win over Tenafly. Kyle Wenckus hit a two-run home run as he went two for three. Andrew Streim went three for three with all of his hits as RBI doubles. Baseball continues their quest to be in the top four of state tournament seeding, as that would give them two home playoff games.
Girls Lacrosse at Dwight-Englewood – 16-7 Win
Two sub .500 teams went at it in their final week of play on Tuesday, and Pascack Hills came out on top. Brooke Bonnano scored seven goals, and Nikki Giammanco added three. Savanna Bell is back after a short absence and got the win.
Thursday, May 16
Girls Lacrosse vs. Hackettstown – 15-5 Win
Senior night would see two seniors combine for eight goals, as Nikki Giammanco and Brooke Bonanno each scored four goals. Sophomore Astrid Velozo added three in the win over Hackettstown. Senior Savanna Bell scored her tenth and final win of her career in her final home start.
Boys Lacrosse at Lakeland – 6-4 Loss
Boys lacrosse took a tough loss at Lakeland which hurt their hopes of hosting a playoff game. Zach Groves had two goals while Logan Nassau and Michael Weaver added one each.
Friday, May 17
Softball at Westwood – 8-0 Loss
Hills only had four hits, and Christina Reineke accounted for two of them as the Broncos took their 14th loss of the season.
Saturday, May 18
Boys Lacrosse vs. Bergen Tech – 9-4 Win
On senior day, Hills locked up a state tournament spot but could not get to host a game. The Broncos led the whole way by more than three goals for almost the entire game.
Softball vs. Park Ridge – 12-3 Loss
Softball finishes their season at 8-15 with a crushing loss to Park Ridge.
Baseball at Old Tappan – 5-1 Win
Baseball locks up the third seed in the state tournament with a big win at Old Tappan. They finish the regular season at 19-7. Kyle Wenckus had a solo home run in his only at bat, while Matt Tortora went three for three with three RBIs and a double. Eddie Mulligan pitched 5.2 innings and was awarded the win with Andrew Streim finishing the game.
