More than nine months have already passed by since our president, Donald Trump, has been inaugurated. The Election of 2016 was one of the most controversial elections this country has seen thus far. Throughout this time, the country has been greatly divided into Pro-Trump and Anti-Trump. Groups have evolved like the ANTIFA (Anti-fascist), who are radical leftist. In addition to this, people of the democratic party have started to, not only disagree with conservatives, but starting to despise them. Agreeing with the electoral college, I believe that Trump has the right ideas and opinions, and will ultimately make America great again. The following are examples of highlights and positive aspects of Trump’s presidency from his inauguration to the present.

The Rise of the Stock Market

Ever since Trump has been elected, The Dow Jones Industrial Average has been skyrocketing. The stock market has risen more than 25% since Trump was elected in November of 2016. In addition, the Dow hit 23,000 for the first time on October 17, 2017. In contrast, when Obama was in office, the Dow hit an all-time low of 6,626 in March of 2009. Clearly, Trump has made a change in our economy.

The President went on to Tweet, “The U.S. has gained more than 5.2 trillion dollars in Stock Market Value since election day!” Hopefully, this rise will continue throughout the four years of his presidency and the US will gain more money in Stock Market Value, improving our domestic and international economy.

Exposing “Fake” News Sources

We all have our favorite news sources – our “go to” TV channels or websites we use to hear or read about the latest on the government, the stock market, or world and local news. It is known that Fox leans to the right end of the political spectrum, while CNN leans to the left. Depending on what political party you are in, you will most likely watch one over the other.

Ever since the President’s run for office, he has been referring to CNN as “fake news.” He has claimed that news sources like CNN and MSNBC are falsified and they alter stories to make the president sound unintelligent and extreme. The thing is, Trump is not entirely wrong about this.

The video posted by “Veritasvisuals” on June 26, 2017 by CNN Supervising Producer, John Bonifield, proves that CNN is biased and reporting false information to the American people. CNN has been promoting the idea that Trump worked with Russian officials, more specifically with Putin, to hack the election due to the fact that Trump’s popular votes were lower than Clinton’s. In this particular recording, Bonifield is asked whether the alleged reports on Russia helping Donald Trump win the 2016 presidential election were accurate. While boarding an elevator, the journalist asks Bonifield, “But honestly, you think the whole Russia **** is just like, bull****?” Then, John Bonifield answers and says, “Could be bull****. I mean, it’s mostly bull**** right now. Like, we don’t have any big giant proof.” This proves that CNN is falsifying the reports to the public, as behind the scenes, they themselves admit to the fact that the Russia scandle is “mostly bullsh*t”.

Furthermore, the video also demonstrates how CNN keeps reporting on attention-grabbing situations because of their thirst for ratings. In the video, the journalist later asks John Bonifield, “Then why is CNN constantly like, Russia this, Russia that?”, where Bonifield automatically replies, “Because it’s ratings.” CNN’s ratings during May 2016 were significantly lower than they were in May 2017. The only difference: Trump was president and he was caught in a (false) scandal with Russia.

The Southern Border Wall

Illegal immigration has been a problem in the United States for a long time. However, in recent years, it has hit its peak. In 2015, there were about eleven million undocumented immigrants in the United States. Some of the most consequential concerns of these illegal immigrants are the increasing amount of crime and taking jobs from the American people.

In the past couple of years, about 1000 undocumented immigrants were convicted of sex crimes against children in Texas alone. So many violent crimes have been caused by illegal immigrants including the following:

July 1, 2015 – Kate Steinle is walking on a busy pier in the San Francisco area when a gunshot sounded in the air. Steinle then drops to the floor, dead, in front of her father who she was walking with. The shooter is then identified as 45 year-old Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, an illegal immigrant who was deported 5 times.

July 12, 2015 – Illegal Mexican immigrant, Aurelio Hernandez-Gomez, is arrested for kidnaping and sexually assaulting a 13 year-old girl. The cops finds Aurelio with the girl in his home, where he hid and repeatedly sexually assaulted her.

February 27, 2015 – Ramiro Ajualip, a 27 year-old illegal immigrant, is accused of sodomising a 10 year-old girl in Alabama. He is charged with first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy. These are both Class A felonies in Alabama, which can lead to life in prison.

All of these crimes were committed by immigrants that entered the United States illegally. With Trump’s idea of a southern border wall, illegal immigration can be minimized. An example of this is when Hungary built a similar wall. Illegal immigration was cut by about 99% in Hungary. Numbers went from 391,000 immigrants in 2015 to 18,236 in 2016 to 1,184 in 2017. This proves that a wall will help restrict the flow of illegal immigrants into America.

All of these examples go to show that this is just the beginning of how Trump is working to improve the lives of the American people. I believe President Trump will continue to make the right choices, though they may not seem popular to Democrats; Trump is not looking for the approval of every single citizen, he is looking out for the benefits of the United States and prioritizing keeping the country safe. Though criticized, Trump will make America great again.
