Quinnipiac University is a private school made up of three beautiful suburban campuses: Mount Carmel, York Hill, and North Haven. There are 6,500 undergraduate students and 2,300 graduate students. Among these campuses you will find state-of-the-art residence halls, academic buildings, and athletic fields. These campuses are located just 90 minutes from New York City and two hours from Boston. Another great feature of the campus is that is located adjacent to the big Sleeping Giant State park. There you can find numerous trails for hiking and many scenic views.
Quinnipiac offers more than 50 undergraduate programs and 20 graduate degree programs. The university also offers several five-year combined bachelors/masters degree programs in the fields of science and education. These are very attractive options for students interested in accelerated programs that result in a master’s degree. There are also over 100 student clubs, including nearly 10 fraternities and sororities, and many religious organizations. Students can also use the fitness and recreation center to stay in shape, or choose to play a sport by getting involved with intramurals or joining the Quinnipiac Bobcats varsity sports teams.
About 80 percent of the entering class comes from out of state and 95 percent of freshmen live on campus. Freshmen and sophomores reside on the Mount Carmel Campus in traditional, apartment, or suite-style residence halls. Juniors and seniors have the option to live at the York Hills Campus, which includes apartment-style residence halls, a parking garage, the TD Bank Sports Center, and the Rocky Top Student Center. So, no matter what year you are, you have the option of living comfortably on either campus. With a large campus shuttle system, students can enjoy the nearby shopping, restaurants, and museums. For those interested in traveling greater distances, the New Haven train station is close by with access to Metro North and Amtrak.
At Quinnipiac University, there is always something to do…whether it’s playing a sport, hiking at the state park, or just being with your friends, students at Quinnipiac have the complete college experience. If you are looking for a smaller campus that still has all of the activities you could want, then Quinnipiac may be the ideal university for you.
