Rowan University is a medium-sized public school that has three diverse campuses. The main campus is in Glassboro, New Jersey, while the Cooper Medical School of Rowan is located in Camden, New Jersey, and the School of Osteopathic Medicine is in Stratford, New Jersey. The Glassboro campus is located just twenty minutes outside of Philadelphia.
The student population is comprised of 11,000 undergraduate students and 1,650 graduate students. Approximately 3,600 students live on campus. . Rowan currently has eight residence halls with a variety of living and learning environments.
Class sizes at Rowan average about 20 students, and there is a 16:1 student- faculty ratio, so every student can receive the personal attention that they need. Rowan does not use any teaching assistants, so all classes are taught by professors. Students at Rowan have the opportunity to choose from 57 bachelor programs, 46 master programs, and four doctoral degree programs. The University is accredited in business, education, engineering, and medicine.
Rowan is a division III school that offers eight men’s and 10 women’s varsity sports. Teams have won a total of 11 national championships in five different sports. Students, who do not want to play a varsity sport, have the option of choosing from 45 intramural sport activities, and 30 organized club sport programs. As well as sports, there are 141 total student clubs and organizations, which include 26 Greek Life organizations. Rowan offers study abroad options with over 200 programs in 40 different countries. Rowan is also home to a brand new, state-of-the-art, recreation center, and has the only planetarium in South Jersey.
