The Latino Hispanic Heritage Club (LHCC) is running a sock drive to support those in need as temperatures drop this fall. In collaboration with the Student Immigrant Alliance, Interact Club, and the Muslim Student Alliance, the LHCC is collecting new socks to be donated to the mayor’s office in Passaic. The city reached out to local high schools for help, and our community at Hills has stepped up to the challenge.
Junior Julie Rodriguez, LHCC president, shared her excitement about the initiative and its important purpose.
“This is a really great opportunity for our community to rally and support those less fortunate, especially as the seasons change…That’s why we chose the tagline, ‘Warm Feet, Warm Hearts, Warm Communities’: to urge Hills to make our North Bergen community warmer and stronger,” she said.
The drive will continue until Nov. 20, and students are encouraged to drop off their donations at one of four collection boxes. These can be found in the main lobby, Media Center, room 232, or room 224. Let’s work together to make a difference this season!
