On Oct. 16, Liam Payne, former One Direction star, was found dead after he fell from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Police arrived at the scene after they were notified of “an aggressive man who could be under the effects of drugs and alcohol” at the CasaSur hotel.
When the police arrived, the hotel manager stated that he had heard a loud noise, and that’s when the police found Payne.
The hotel worker called the police that night and described Payne’s behavior.
“He’s destroying the entire room, and well, we need you to send someone, please,” he said.
Liam Payne was part of the prominent boy band, One Direction, along with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson. These boys were brought together by the British talent show, X Factor, in 2010.
One Direction went on to sell many well-known hits, such as “What Makes You Beautiful” and “Story of My Life.” Although the group went on a hiatus in 2016, many people still love their songs.
Payne previously shared his struggles with mental illness, sharing his six months of sobriety online in a YouTube video in July of 2023.
More recently, his ex Maya Henry accused Payne of harassment and abuse during their relationship in 2022, and she even wrote a book detailing the events. Payne has been receiving backlash from these accusations.
