New York vs. New York

On November 10, 2019, an NFL regular-season game was played, which only occurs once every four years. It is one of the greatest rivalries: the New York Giants and the New York Jets. Both teams’ home field is at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The New York Giants came into the game with a record of 2-7, and the Jets 1-7. By the end of the game, the final score was in favor of the Jets, winning 34 to 27. Clearly, the Jets proved that they were the better team, although, this was not the only debate.

The main debate came to be: who has a better fan base?

Sophomore Jacob Charnow shared his opinion on which fan base is better.

“The Jets easily have a better fan base. I have been to both Jets and Giants games before. There is a huge difference between the two fan bases. At Jets games, it is much rowdier. For example, the Jets have a cheer that goes ‘And that is a Jets first down.’ Also, you point your arm forward while you cheer it. The point is that just something like that is the difference-maker between the two teams’ fan bases,” Charnow said.

Sophomore Nick Giannantonio thought differently than Charnow.

“When I was a young kid, I went to both Jets and Giants games. The passion that Giants fans have compared to Jets fans is not even close. Now, I am a season ticket holder of the Giants and I will continue to be one for the rest of my life. I will never look back on my decision,” Giannantonio said.

When people bring up New York football teams, they tend to talk about the Jets and Giants. Everyone forgets to mention the Buffalo Bills. Are they the true king of New York with a record of 9-3?
