Rising Hills junior commits to college for baseball
Pascack Hills starting pitcher, hitter, and center fielder Joey Giordano recently committed to the University of Richmond.
Multiple high school athletes don’t know where they want to attend college until their senior year. However, Pascack Hills starting pitcher, hitter, and center fielder Joey Giordano recently committed to the University of Richmond.
“Joey is a very hard working athlete that keeps his head down and means business every time he’s on the field,” Hills athletic director Steven Papa said.
During his sophomore year, Giordano pitched a no-hitter against No. 3 Ramapo after striking out 16 batters. He also won North Jersey Male Athlete of the Week in April for the Record.
“I can only see him getting better and adding to a very impressive high school baseball resume,” Papa said.
Giordano was contacted, but he was unavailable for comment.
Hills senior Olivia Ge is looking forward to being on the Trailblazer for her final year. She joined the publication her freshman year as a staff writer and edited for the Sports section her junior year. This year, Ge is excited to be the publication's Editor-in-Chief alongside Kaitlyn Verde and manage stories for the Hills community.
Fun fact: Out of the different food categories, Ge's favorite is fruit, with the exception of bananas and pineapples.
