Coach Runge celebrates 100th win
This happened during her sixth year of coaching at a home game against Lakeland.
When the girls volleyball team won against Lakeland on Sept. 16, it was head coach Lindsay Runge’s 100th win. This was announced following the matches via @PHAthletics on Twitter. The home game was against Lakeland High School and ended with a score of 25-14 and 25-13 in each set, respectively.
Runge began as an assistant coach for the team before transitioning to head coach in 2016, making this her sixth year in the position.
“She has put so much time and energy over the course of her career to make our team and players the best we can be. She always pushes us to live up to our fullest potential and I am so grateful to have had her as a coach during my time at Hills,” senior and varsity player Allanah Mednard said.
Runge commented on this achievement and emphasized the importance of a team effort that led to this point in her coaching career.
“The milestone is a testament to the hard work demonstrated by past and current Hills volleyball athletes, the commitment of my coaching staff over the years, and the support from both the administration and families that have been involved in our program,” she said.
