‘Little Miss’ internet sensation
The trend uses cartoon characters to poke fun at people’s actions, flaws, or personality traits.
The recent “Little Miss,” “Little Mr.,” or “Little Mx.” trend has taken over social media and turned into a new, favorite meme. It uses cartoon characters to poke fun at people’s actions, flaws, or personality traits.
The characters featured in each of the memes originated from the “Mr. Men” and “Little Miss” book series by Roger Hargreaves. Within it, he explains emotions and moral lessons that young children are able to understand. The characters from each book correspond with the mood of a particular meme. For example, a meme showing a “little miss shopping addict,” may show a character holding a shopping bag with a smug face.
The trend went viral on Twitter after the account @dreamgirltat received over 36,000 likes on her first “little miss” post. Following this initial tweet, users took to Twitter, Instagram, and Tik Tok to post their own memes.
“I love seeing all of my favorite influencers post ‘Little Miss’ memes because I feel like I can relate to them through our shared insecurities and flaws,” said rising Pascack Hills senior Kaitlyn Lafferty.
