On Saturday, January 13th, Pascack Hills’ first History Bowl Quiz Team participated in the 2018 New Jersey History Bowl State Championships held at Ridgewood High School. The varsity team, with coach Scerbo, consisted of Juniors Sarah Shill, Alexandra Truszkowska, Dylan Barman, and Senior James Hong finished 3-2 in the competition, qualifying for National Finals in Washington DC this April.

With great victories over Paramus, Watchung Hills, and Ridgewood, the team had a total of 1030 points, averaging 206 each round, and finished in 24th preliminary rank, qualifying for both Playoffs and Nationals. However, the team later lost in the Round of 32 to number 9 Oratory Prep.

The team will continue to dominate in further Bowl tournaments planned in February and at Nationals in late April.
