Yes, the highly anticipated time of year is here- it’s winter break! While everyone is relaxing, you may want to switch up your routine of eating, sleeping, and repeating for something a little more adventurous. Here are five different things you can do to pass the time over winter break:
1) Have a family movie marathon. Grab your popcorn, put on your slippers, and get all cozied up for a day on the couch with your family. Check out some classic movies for this season: The Polar Express, Elf, and of course, Frozen.
2) Bake! Cupcakes, and cookies, and brownies, oh my! There are few things that people love more than baked goods. Look up some mouth-watering recipes, head out to the grocery store, and fill up your cart with ingredients that you can use to make your treats! All that’s left to do from there is bake and enjoy your scrumptious goodies!
3) Step outside of your comfort zone and step into the winter wonderland, also known as New York City. Either make it a day with the family, or venture into the Big Apple via train with a couple friends. Contrary to popular belief, it’s okay to be a tourist; it’ll be our little secret. Hit up the classic city spots that are even more beautiful in the wintertime, such as Rockefeller Center, Times Square, or Central Park, to feel like you’re in a real-life snow globe.
4) As dreadful as it may sound, it may be time to re-organize your room. With the New Year quickly approaching, you want to start off on the right foot. If you’re snowed in one day, shuffle though your shelves, clear out your drawers, and make room for what may be coming this year. Who knows, you may find something in your room that you’ll spend hours reminiscing over!
5) Maybe it’s time to get in touch with people you haven’t talked to in a while. With a long break, you may not see people as often as you would like. Send some friends a text, or ask them to go out for lunch- anything to catch up! Spend your break with the people you care most about, and let them know how much they mean to you.
So, Cowboys, I hope you all have the happiest of holidays and have the most enjoyable winter break!
