Economy
- The unemployment rate when Obama took office was 7.8% and as of December, the unemployment rate has dropped to 5%.
- Over the past 70 months, 14.1 million jobs have been created.
Climate Change
- Nearly 200 countries came together to adopt the most ambitious agreement to combat climate change.
- By 2030, carbon pollution from power plants will be cut by 32%.
World Affairs
- Iran can no longer obtain a nuclear weapon.
- 160,000 combat troops are home from war.
Health Care
- More than 90% of Americans have health insurance for the first time ever.
- Nearly 18 million Americans have gained health coverage.
Obama concluded the speech with “Thank you, God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.”
