Matt Goldstein and Robert Geerlof will both be playing varsity sports next year at Muhlenberg College. Goldstein has wrestled all four years for the Cowboys, and Geerlof has been a starter on the offensive line since he was a freshman. Both student athletes are excited about moving on to the next level.
Robert Geerlof has started all four years for the Pascack Hills football team on the offensive line. The second team all county selection chose Muhlenberg over Ithaca College, Utica College, and Stonehill College. Geerlof has not decided on his major as of yet. One thing is for sure: he will be part of a Division 3 powerhouse when he steps on the field. Geerlof is a recipient of the Golden Spur award, which praises his leadership, great athletic ability, hard work, and dedication to the program.
When asked about choosing Muhlenberg, Geerlof responded, “It has a nice college campus feel, the students are really chill, and the people in the town care a lot about football.” Geerlof also mentioned that the high level of academics was important to him.
Matt Goldstein made his decision official on February 15th when he signed an early decision contract. Last year, Goldstein wrestled at 138 where he made honorable mention all county and finished with a record of 27-7. Next year, he will wrestle at 141 for Muhlenberg. Goldstein says he will be majoring in business.
When asked about his favorite thing about Muhlenberg, Goldstein said, “The outstanding academic reputation was the most important thing.”
Good luck to Rob and Matt as they begin their college and athletic career at Muhlenberg!
