Mrs. Myhre in National Mobility Awareness competition

Mrs. Donna Myhre, Fieldstone Middle School math teacher, has been battling ALS since 2012. Myhre recently received the opportunity to win a wheelchair-accessible van through the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA). The winner is determined by the number of votes a local hero receives.

People could vote for their local hero every day during the month of May. One can earn an extra vote by answering the question of the day correctly.

With encouragement from Mr. Glenn DeMarrais, Pascack Hills students helped Myhre gain an incredible number of votes. When voting ended on May 3, she had an astounding total of 32,003 votes. As of now, the results are not in.

Many students at Hills have had Myhre as a math teacher.

PH freshman, Talia Boyajian, said, “Mrs. Myhre to this day is the nicest, most caring person I’ve ever met.  I remember walking into her classroom and just feeling welcomed without her even having to say a word.”
