Creative Thanksgiving Desserts

Even though everyone eats a big Thanksgiving meal, there is always room for dessert! Although pumpkin pie is the traditional Thanksgiving dessert, there are many easy, creative desserts you can make to top off the feast!

These store-bought cookies with peanut butter cups make this dessert easy to make, along with being very affordable. These sweet treats resemble pilgrim hats, fitting perfectly into the Thanksgiving theme! In addition, they show Hills pride, as they are dominantly brown with an accent of orange!

These store-bought cookies atop Hershey Kisses® make this dessert easy to make, along with being affordable. These sweet treats resemble acorns, fitting into the Thanksgiving theme.  Along with being the perfect dessert for the autumn season, these sweets are delicious and filled with a chocolatey-peanut butter flavor. Ilyssa Siegel, sophomore at Pascack Hills High School, talks about how cute these desserts are and how her family would put these treats in little bags to give to her family as they left.

These rice krispy treats that look like turkey legs are the ideal desserts for this holiday. They combine rice krispy treats, chocolate, and pretzels to make this flavorful dessert perfect for this occasion as it resembles the main food of the holiday, the turkey!

These cupcakes incorporate all of the traditional Thanksgiving foods into sweet treats to finish off the big feast!  You’re able to show off your creativity with a wide variety of ways that you can decorate these cupcakes for the festive holiday of Thanksgiving, along with them being delicious!  Payton Moran, a sophomore here at Pascack Hills High School stated, “The reason my favorite creative dessert for Thanksgiving are these cupcakes is because they look like actual food, but when you bite into them you get the delicious taste of a sweet cupcake.”

Talya Knopf, a sophomore who is an aspiring baker made these mini-cherry pies [see featured image] last year for Thanksgiving. She states, “Not only are they delicious, but you can show your creativity and personality through them by making different designs with the lattice.” Here is the recipe for these delicious pies!
