Softball
Hills started their last week of regular season with a great win against Cliffside Park 6-0, on Monday, May 18. Freshman pitcher Nina Tuli threw her first no hitter of the season and of her career at Pascack Hills. Most of the Broncos runs were scored off of passed balls and stolen bases. The Girls’ next game was the last regular season game of the season, on Thursday, May 21 against Park Ridge. They lost, but Freshman Addy Zoelle went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 1 walk, and Junior Sabrina Madonick went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. With this being the last game of the regular season, Girls Softball heads into states as the tenth seed with a record of 11-13-1.
Baseball
Baseball played their first game of the week on Monday, May 18 against Old Tappan. While Hills lost 8-2, senior Kyle Wenckus had a good offensive game going 3 for 4 with three singles and scored a run. Baseball played their final game of the regular season on Friday, May 22 against Hackensack, winning 7-1. Senior Kyle Wenckus had a great game, earning a win for pitching, and hit a home run to contribute to the Broncos win. Senior Jake Szabo went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s for Hills. To finish off their regular season, their record heading into states, as the ninth seed, is an even 13-13.
Girls Lacrosse
The Broncos had their last regular season game against Passaic Valley on Tuesday, May 19. Senior Astrid Velozo had 5 goals and 1 assist, and junior Emily Driver had 4 goals and 1 assist. This was the last regular season game for the girls, and their final record heading into states, as the 13th seed, is 11-5.
Boys Lacrosse
Hills lost to Rutherford 11-3 on Tuesday, May 19. Senior Logan Nassau scored 2 of the 3 goals for the Broncos. Junior Christian Gesuele scored the other goal, and had an assist. The boys ended their regular season with a tough loss against Westwood on Friday, May 22, losing 15-2. The only two players to score goals were senior Logan Nassau and sophomore Alex Davis. The Broncos final record for the season was 4-13.
Boys Tennis
Boys Tennis started their state run this week. Entering as the second seed, they beat 15th seed Waldwick in the first round on Friday, May 22. They shut out Waldwick in a 5-0 win, with not one Hills player losing a set. Hills looks to keep this momentum going as they enter the second round of states.
