New to Netflix this November

This November, Netflix is bringing a long list of new films and shows to our screens. With the days off this upcoming month due to the teacher’s convention and Thanksgiving, students can take advantage of all of the shows and movies coming to this popular streaming service this month. Whether you’re in the mood for a Christmas flick, an adventure, or a drama-filled show, Netflix is adding it all this November. Unsure of what to watch? Here are a few suggestions:

The Christmas Candle, A Holiday Engagement, or Dear Santa

If you’re in the mood for a holiday movie, Netflix is already releasing a number of holiday films, many of which are Netflix original films. Christmas Candle is a story set in 19th century England about superstitious townsfolk and a minister that hopes to modernize their town. Another holiday film, A Holiday Engagement, is a set around Thanksgiving and tells the tale of a woman whose fiance leaves her just before she goes home for the holidays, to avoid a mess with her family, she hires a man to pretend to be her fiance. Finally, Dear Santa tells of a Christmas letter that brings together a new family. These are just a few of the heartwarming holiday stories that Netflix is adding this month.

Grease

Looking for a classic movie? A musical? A romance? All three? Grease is returning to Netflix on November 1st. The movie, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton, is known by most and loved by many. A student interested in the mid-1900s, catchy songs, or a cheesy romance will be thoroughly entertained.

The Matrix

A student less interested in this chick-flick-type film may be more interested in the well-known science fiction film, The Matrix. The movie follows Keanu Reeves, playing Neo, through a strange world trying to uncover the identity of the most dangerous man alive. Certainly, the action-packed film can be an exciting addition to the November breaks.

Atypical, Season 3

This is a Netflix original series about a high schooler, Sam, who struggles with autism. As the plot progresses, the film takes you on the journey that he and his family go through their day-to-day lives, romance and family drama included.

The Irishman

This crime film, directed by Martin Scorsese stars many familiar faces, including Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci, and Al Pacino. It is the story about how a truck driver, Frank Sheeren, becomes involved with a crime-lord family.  The film is the first to be released theatres, then only weeks after it will be on Netflix. It will be available for streaming on November 27th in your local movie Theatres.
