1. “The Garfield Movie”

“The Garfield Movie,” distributed by Sony Pictures and Alcott Entertainment and coming to theaters in 2024, is about the funny-loving cat that we all know. The story follows how Garfield originated, from him getting adopted by his owner to uncovering why he was found in that condition and place. The movie also follows how their friendships came together. But, in the film, we also see how Garfield always wondered if he could get reunited with his long-lost father from when he was a young kitten.

2. “Mean Girls” 

The classic 2004 movie will be back on the big screen with the film adaptation of the 2018 hit Broadway musical, “Mean Girls!” American singer and songwriter Reneé Rapp, who has played Regina George on Broadway, will be returning to the role, while Australian actress Angourie Rice will play the film’s new girl Cady Heron. Fellow SNL alum Tim Meadows will be playing the math teacher again, as he did in the original. This movie is about the story of Cady Heron, who becomes friends with Regina George and her friends who are known as the “Plastics.”  

3. “Lisa Frankenstein” 

This film will center around a dark romance that grows between a misunderstood teenage girl named Lisa, who will be played by American actress Kathryn Newton. The Creature in the film is a handsome Victorian corpse that she reanimates, who will be played by American actor Cole Sprouse. In this film, the pair’s romantic bliss turns into a wild murder spree as they attempt to source missing body parts for The Creature. This horror comedy is written by Diablo Cody.  

4. “Damsel” 

In this film, actress Millie Bobby Brown will be playing Princess Elodie, a young woman pledged to marry a prince, who discovers that her engagement was actually an elaborate ruse to sacrifice her as part of an ancient debt. This debt claimed the lives of many women before her. Elodie must face brave steep cliffs, harsh weather, and a fire breathing dragon if she wants to escape this fate. This film is produced by Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum, and it will be released on March. 

5. “Wicked Part 1” 

The original story of one of the world’s most misunderstood witches will hit the big screen on Thanksgiving 2024 with the first two installments of Jon Chu’s adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical. The film will be bringing the original story of “The Wizard of Oz’s” Wicked Witch of the West, from her perspective. The movie stars Cynthia Ervio as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda. 

6. “Joker: Folie à Deux”

“Joker: Folie à Deux,” releasing in October 2024, is a thriller and sequel to the 2019 “Joker” movie, distributed by Warner Bros and Warner Bros Pictures. Lady Gaga reprises her role as Harley Quinn, as well as Joaquin Phoenix, who is reprising his role as the DC comics character Joker. Zazie Beets will also reprise her role as Sophie Dumond from the first film. 

7. “The Fall Guy” 

In this film called “The Fall Guy,” after leaving the business one year earlier, a battle-scarred stuntman named Colt Seavers springs back into action when the star of a big studio movie suddenly disappears. As the mystery surrounding the missing actor deepens, Seavers soon finds himself captured in a frightening plot that pushes him to the edge of a fall more dangerous than any stunt. The film is directed by David Leitch and will be released on May 3.   

8. “Bridgerton” Season 3  

Ever since “Bridgerton” premiered on Dec. 25, 2020, fans of the Netflix romance drama series have watched Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) circling each other, but never quite taking the steps from friends to something more than friends. When the series returns for season three in the spring, fans will get to see more of Penelope and Colin. The drama will also bring back Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and his partner Kate Bridgerton (Simone Ashley), as well as the rest of the Bridgerton family and their friends.
