From April 25 to 28, 12 Pascack Hills students traveled to Atlanta, Georgia to compete in the 2026 International Career Development Conference (ICDC) where they showcased months of hard work and preparation.
With over 50 competitive events to choose from, DECA prepares high school students for the professional world through realistic roleplays and comprehensive research presentations. DECA focuses on equipping the next generation of leaders with vital expertise in marketing, hospitality, finance, and management.
Before arriving in Atlanta, Hills students participated in Districts, where they competed against other students in Northern New Jersey. Over 50 Hills students earned their spots in the State competition.
At the State Career Development Conference (SCDC), Hills DECA members competed against the best from New Jersey. In the end, 12 students progressed to Atlanta for ICDC.
This year’s ICDC was DECA’s largest to date, hosting a massive field of 26,000 students representing 49 states and several countries.
However, ICDC this year wasn’t just about the competition itself, but also the experiences the students had whilst there.
The 12 students had the opportunity to explore the World of Coca-Cola, diving into the history of Georgia’s most famous drink, and visited the Georgia Aquarium where they got to see the unique marine life and exhibits the aquarium had to offer.
To cap off the experience, the group also gathered for their annual dinner celebration on the final night where the team celebrates their achievements and reflects on the memories made throughout the week.
“It was an overall great experience, between the Coca Cola Museum, aquarium, and everything else Atlanta had to offer. I truly enjoyed the trip,” commented Hills sophomore Jared Litt on his experiences.
Congratulations to all the competitors on an incredible season.
