Spring Break is finally here! After weeks of notes, labs, and early morning wake-ups, we’ve reached the long-awaited days of relaxation. But if you aren’t heading to a beach or a new country, that relaxation can quickly turn into a repetitive cycle of scrolling through your phone and staring at the ceiling. Don’t worry, though, there are plenty of ways to make this week feel like a true break without having to do anything extravagant! Here are four ways to stay busy, have fun, and actually feel refreshed when break comes to an end.
Become a Tourist in Your Own Town
We often overlook the cool spots right in our town because they feel too close. You can use this break to visit that one museum, cute cafe, or hiking trail you’ve been meaning to check out. Go with a few friends, pack some snacks, and spend the day exploring a nearby town or park you usually only drive past.

Spring Cleaning
It sounds boring, but there is something incredibly satisfying about clearing out the clutter. You clean out your school bag, donate the clothes you haven’t worn in a year, or reorganize your desk. A clear space can help you have a clear mind, which is perfect for the final push of the school year.
Go Outside
After months of being stuck inside classrooms, your brain needs some Vitamin D. Some examples include hiking to lower stress, playing outdoor sports to socialize, or even taking a walk in a park to relax with a change of scenery. Being outside can instantly lift your mood and give you the energy you need!

Unplug and Recharge
Staying busy doesn’t always mean being active. Sometimes, the best way to stay busy is to be meaningful with your relaxation. Maybe that means reading that book that’s been sitting on your nightstand, watching a movie marathon, or spending some time with your friends. The goal is to return to school feeling refreshed, not tired and distracted.
The best way to stay busy is to find a balance. By planning one productive thing and one fun activity each day, you won’t feel like you wasted the week. This way, when you come back to school, you will feel ready to tackle the final home stretch til summer! Happy Spring Break!
