Proud parents and excited students gathered in the Pascack Hills High School auditorium on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. to attend the Tri-M Music Honor Society induction. A group of 21 gifted musicians dedicated to musical excellence were inducted and reinducted into the honor society as they shared their talents in performing vocal and instrumental solos, duets, and group pieces in various genres and styles, ranging from classical to contemporary.
Tri-M Music Honor Society
Tri-M Music Honor Society, formerly known as Modern Music Masters, is an organization with a purpose to inspire a continued love of music for future generations. The group at Pascack Hills High School is led by choir director Margarita Elkin.

Throughout the year leading up to the honor society induction, Elkin, with the help of Band Director Ryan Dore, assisted students through a variety of criteria to lead them into induction night. These activities include an application package, a bibliography, an essay (for new members only), an audition piece that will eventually be performed, and biweekly lessons starting in November.
Elkin also assisted in Tri-M board elections for returning members. The board members of the 2025-2026 Tri-M Honor Society are: Camilla Ambrocio (co-president), Christian Lee (co-president), Michael McKay (vice president), Kandace Po (secretary), and Ayan Swain (treasurer).
In order for students to join the honor society, they must be in 10th grade, must be currently enrolled in the band or choir for at least two years, must be actively involved in major music activities at the high school (concerts, fundraisers, talent nights, acappella clubs), must retain an “A” average in music courses, and must retain an overall average 3.0 GPA.
Now that the induction is over and each member has shared their talents, the Tri-M Honor Society looks forward to the continuation of the Tri-M project. The project, led by Elkin and the Tri-M students, pairs each inducted student with a student in the WCMS and Fieldstone middle schools for lessons. The hope is that the inductees will pass on their love for music to the future generations at PHHS.
