    Back to the RAC?

The Pascack Hills Cowboys basketball team is coming off its most successful season in school history. The Cowboys made it to the Group II final of the NJSIAA Group Tournament, where they came up short against Ewing by a score of 59-50 at the Rutgers Athletic Center in Piscataway, NJ. However, the Cowboys team this season will look a bit different. Last season’s squad was led by the play of seniors Cole Dorfman and Jared Shill. Both Dorfman and Shill played key roles on the varsity team for three years and will be very difficult to replace.

However, the hero of last season will be returning for his senior year. Brian Horn, who scored in the final seconds of the Group II semifinals game to send the Cowboys to the finals, will take the reins from Dorfman and Shill in an effort to bring his team back to Rutgers. In addition, Andy Kovner will be back this year to assist Horn in leading the team this season. Rounding out the starting lineup will be senior Drew Mann, as well as juniors Noah Tucker and Robert Tonelli.

This is a very different team from last year and repeating last year’s success will be a very difficult task. But these guys are certainly up for the challenge.

“We are definitely a very different team than last year’s,” Tucker said, “but different is not always a bad thing. Everyone on this team has the utmost amount of confidence in our ability. Living up to last year is a challenge but I think this team is prepared to accomplish the task.”
